Strathclyde Fire & Rescue is the second largest fire and rescue service in the United Kingdom, and one of the largest in Europe.

Welcome

Based at headquarters in Bothwell Road, Hamilton, we are a contest orientated band, which comprises a blend of youth and experience and contains both serving fire personnel and civilians. The band currently competes in Grade 2 and is represented via the Glasgow & West of Scotland Branch of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association (RSPBA).

The majority of the band are civilian and come from different walks of life. It is however instilled into our members that at all times we are ambassadors and promoters of the good name and reputation of "Strathclyde Fire & Rescue Service"

It is to our members' credit that they recognise this and give their dedication, time and hard work in both support of the "Service" and the achievement of increasing demands on high playing standards.

In recognition of our support at public/community engagements and functions, we are rewarded with capital funding towards uniform and equipment.

The Band is under the leadership of Pipe Major Robert Shaw and Drum Sergeant Alistair Hepburn. Ex Pipe Major David Kettlewell and his team encourage and develop learners for the future.

The band is also very fortunate to have a great friend in PM James Wark, whose musical advice is a very welcome asset and contributory factor in its success.

We hope you enjoy your visit around the website.
